IS fullers earth litter safe for kittens?

I bought 2 different types of it, my kitten doesn't eat it or anything, i empty it each day, or every 2 days, he seems fine but all the articles of kittens dying after eating it or something or another is worrying me, and, its relatively cheap, but im 13 so money isn't really in abundance, and at 5 pound a bag, catsan isn't worth it (i've had it before, but the "oder elimination" doesn't work, and it smells anyway. so what do i do? do i swap the litter or is it fine? because, i thought that they cant sell products for animal usage that would cause harm?
